Second Chance-Last Opportunity (SCLO) celebrates its 12th anniversary with an Open House on Thursday, May 10th between 11am and 2pm SCLO invites the public to join them at their Celebration Open House to wish them a happy birthday, meet their volunteers, clients and Board, enjoy bar-b-que, see plans for the new building, and join in with the festivities. Valet parking will be provided.

WHAT ARE THEY CELEBRATING?

For 12 years SCLO has been helping the disadvantaged in our community who wish to help themselves through life skills classes and counseling. There is still work to be done!

SCLO targets the often invisible population of Sarasota and Manatee; people like Maria, the 15 year old pregnant girl whose family has withdrawn their support;

Linda, a mom who works 2 jobs trying to support 4 children under 6 on a minimum
income;

Denise, a 46 year old grandmother who’s bringing up her 3 grandchildren and her own 2
teenagers while her daughter is incarcerated; and

Tyrone, an untrained handyman who can only work at unskilled jobs until he can save
enough to get certified and buy tools.

All these people, and so many more, benefit from the budgeting, communication, parenting, and health skills gained from the Life Management Training offered by Second Chance-Last Opportunity. Here’s to another 12 years of giving the disadvantaged a second chance in Sarasota and Manatee Counties!
