Celebration Open House Marks 19 Years
April 16, 2014 (Sarasota, FL): Nineteen years ago, determined to actively help those who struggle in our community instead of ignoring the problems, Founder and CEO April Glasco gave away the contents of her convenience store and started the non-profit Second Chance-Last Opportunity. The agency will be marking the date with a Celebration Open House on the actual anniversary, Thursday, April 17th, between 11:30am and 2:30pm. April says, “Supporters, community members, clients, and former clients are all invited and encouraged to stop by to share our birthday cake and help us celebrate 19 years of giving second chances, basic skills, and a voice to the invisible population in our community.”
Next month, SCLO’s 5th annual ‘Git It In Your Soul’ Dance Party and more formal birthday celebration will be held on May 17th at The Francis, 7-10pm. The high energy band NexxLevel will once again provide the music and everyone is encouraged to attend the fun, informal celebration. Tickets are $15 in advance, $20 at the door.
