The Sisters Circle Project

The Sisters Circle Project is a transformative intervention program designed to educate and empower women to move to the next level of education or job readiness. The Sisters Circle Project succeeds in giving women the social and behavioral skills they need to adopt and live a healthier and more fulfilled life.

Sisters Circle is a 5 week program that incorporates SCLO’s unique and holistic approach with a variety of life changing workshops.

These Sessions Include:

  • Self-appraisal
  • Goal-setting
  • Communication Skills
  • Counseling
  • Problem-Solving
  • Role play
  • Group Therapy
  • Enrichment activities including field trips, fashion shows, cooking contests, theater performances, etc.

In a safe and confidential atmosphere, women share their experiences and develop a support network. Sisters Circle enables the ladies to gain skills and a new perspective on life that has a positive impact on their attitude and behavior within the family, work and community. They complete the course with a new outlook, demeanor, support group, and opportunity for a purposeful and fulfilling life.

And it works!

After learning how to set realistic and attainable goals, many participants have returned to school, found employment, and learned to assert themselves in their relationships. Call 360-8660 if you would like to know more about the program or can offer support.

My Personal Pledge

[Spoken while on my tippy toes three times a day]:

I am that I am, because this is how I see myself.
I see myself as the woman that I thought I couldn’t be.
I am that I am,
I will no longer see myself the way people want me to be.
I am that I am.

$20,000 Donation Challenge

After learning about the hunger that is rapidly growing in our community, an anonymous donor has started a matching-donation campaign to raise funds. The goal is $20,000 to be raised (and matched) in 10 days. These badly needed funds will be used to purchase groceries, personal care items and new-baby needs that we will distribute at our building, 1933 Dr. Martin L. King Jr. Way, every Monday, Wednesday and Friday at 12 noon.

Thank you for spreading love in the form of support for those in need in these challenging times.
