Second Chance-Last Opportunity hosts a week of ‘Caring and Sharing’
Youth week culminates in school supplies shopping

Sarasota, FL (July 18, 2007) – Second Chance-Last Opportunity is providing the young people of Newtown with a week of activities to bond with each other and residents of local nursing homes. The youth, aged 12 and up, will share ice cream and songs with the residents of The Pines on Tuesday, August 14th, participate in arts and crafts at the Newtown Community Center on Wednesday, August 15th, and visit the residents of J.H. Floyd Nursing Home on Thursday, August 16th. Those who participate will be rewarded with a shopping trip on Friday, August 17th to stock up with back-to-school supplies.

Members of the public can contribute to this week of ‘Caring and Sharing’ by donating Walmart gift cards or cash or supplies. In keeping with Second Chance’s mission to provide life management skills, the young people will shop at Walmart using donated calculators, taking away with them money management skills as well as the supplies they need to be adequately prepared to start back at school. Contributions to the Back-To-School Shopping Trip can be sent to Second Chance-Last Opportunity, P.O. Box 1048, Sarasota, FL 34230, are tax-deductible, and will be gratefully received.
